Introcduction:

System identification and state estimation are core research areas in control theory and engineering applications, with extensive prospects in fields such as industrial automation, smart manufacturing, robotics, and energy systems. With the increasing demand for modelling complex systems, traditional identification and estimation methods struggle to address challenges posed by nonlinear, time-varying, and multivariate systems. This Special Session aims to gather the latest research achievements in the field, exploring advanced data-driven and model-driven identification and estimation methods, and promoting their application and development in Industry 4.0, intelligent systems, predictive control, and related areas.
